Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:

• •Account information: Your name, email address, and authentication details provided when you register or sign in with Google.
• •Search and location data: The areas you search for parks, your GPS location (when permitted), and your saved searches.
• •Reservation data: Booking details including dates, park selections, guest counts, your contact name, email and phone number, and payment confirmations (processed securely via Stripe).
• •RV profile information: Your RV's year, make, model and specifications (type, length, height, weight) used for filtering, trip planning and recall checks.
• •Photos: Pictures you add to your RV profile or repair log.
• •Trips and notes: Trip plans, packing lists, maintenance and repair logs, fuel logs, pre-drive checks (including where you were when you ran one), notes, and reports of missing parks.
• •Emergency contacts: Names, phone numbers, email addresses and policy numbers you choose to save.
• •Assistant conversations: Messages you send to the in-app RoamRadar assistant.
• •Usage data: How you interact with the app, such as maps viewed, searches run and filters used. This is recorded only while you are signed in.
• •Device identifiers: The Android app, and services built into it, may collect a device or installation identifier to run the app and to measure usage and performance. It is not used for advertising.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• •Display relevant RV parks and campgrounds based on your search location and preferences.
• •Process and manage your reservations, including sending booking confirmations and reminders.
• •Provide personalized trip planning, maintenance scheduling, and recall alerts.
• •Send price-drop and availability notifications for parks you've saved.
• •Improve our park database, search results, and overall app experience.
• •Communicate with you about your account, reservations, and important updates.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• •Stripe: For secure payment processing. We never store your card details.
• •Parks and campgrounds: Your booking details (name, dates, RV info) are shared with the park you've reserved.
• •Base44: Hosts the app and stores your account and app data, and runs the in-app assistant.
• •Service providers: Google (maps, geocoding, Places data), recreation.gov and the National Park Service (campground data), NHTSA (your RV's make and model, for recall checks), and weather APIs. Only the data necessary to provide the service.
• •Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Data Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which maintains its own PCI-compliant infrastructure. We never see or store your card details. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Email Communications & Opt-Out

When you create a RoamRadar account, you are automatically subscribed to receive non-essential email updates such as new park listings, deals, and travel tips. You can opt out at any time, no questions asked.

• •Toggle off 'Email updates' in your Account page to unsubscribe immediately.
• •If you signed up via the standalone newsletter form (without an account), use the Unsubscribe page link provided in your signup confirmation, or visit /unsubscribe and enter your email.
• •Opting out only affects non-essential communications. You will still receive transactional emails related to your reservations, such as booking confirmations and reminders.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• •Access and review the personal information we hold about you.
• •Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• •Opt out of non-essential email communications at any time via Account → Email updates toggle or the /unsubscribe page.
• •Delete your account and all associated data at any time via Account → Help Center → Delete Account. Deletion takes effect immediately.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data (favorites, reservations, trips, RV profiles, and related records) is permanently removed immediately. We do not retain personal data after account deletion. Stripe keeps its own payment records as required by law.

Children's Privacy

RoamRadar is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us to have it removed.

Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated notice in the app. The 'Last updated' date above reflects the most recent revision.
